Care throughout Greenwich

Local collection, individual care

We arrange individual pet cremation throughout the Royal Borough of Greenwich, including Woolwich, Eltham, Charlton, Plumstead and Greenwich itself. You can discuss collection from home or a veterinary practice and choose the address for the return of ashes. The service covers the borough's different neighbourhoods; it is not limited to addresses near Greenwich town centre.

Individual cremation gives you a clear choice when you want your pet's ashes returned. We explain the arrangements before collection, record your pet's details and help you understand what will happen next. You can ask questions at any stage; you do not need to make every decision about remembrance at the same time as organising collection.

A quote is a starting point for your own pet and address. Tell us whether your pet has already died or whether you are planning ahead, and whether they are at home or with a vet. If your pet is still alive and needs medical help, contact your veterinary practice; this page is for cremation arrangements.

Arranging collection from home or a vet

The first question for a Greenwich collection is whether your pet is at home or with a vet. For a home visit, tell us where they are resting, their approximate size and any steps or lift access. For veterinary collection, confirm the practice name, branch and owner authorisation. You may be arranging care from another part of London or on behalf of family; if so, agree who will receive updates and who can answer access questions. We will explain the collection process and confirm availability before a time is treated as booked.

You can choose your own cremation provider. If a veterinary practice is caring for your pet, tell it your choice and confirm its release requirements before collection. Check whether another aftercare arrangement has already been authorised. Let the practice know who will collect your pet, and share its contact details with our team so the handover can be agreed.

Areas we cover in Greenwich

Our service covers addresses throughout Royal Borough of Greenwich. Some neighbourhoods extend across council boundaries; the places below refer to the parts within this borough.

  • Greenwich
  • Greenwich Peninsula
  • Woolwich
  • Charlton
  • Plumstead
  • Eltham
  • Kidbrooke
  • Blackheath
  • Abbey Wood
  • Thamesmead
  • Shooters Hill
  • New Eltham
  • Mottingham

Greenwich, the Peninsula, Charlton and Blackheath

Our coverage includes Greenwich, Greenwich Peninsula, Charlton and Greenwich addresses in Blackheath. For a flat with a concierge, tell us how a collection should be received and which entrance is appropriate. A building may use a different road for vehicle access from the one in its postal address. Explain this when booking so the team can plan around the actual approach to your home.

Woolwich, Plumstead, Abbey Wood and Thamesmead

Woolwich, Plumstead, Abbey Wood and Greenwich addresses in Thamesmead are also covered. Where a neighbourhood is shared with Bexley, the full postcode identifies the location. If you are arranging care for a relative, confirm the flat number and the name used on the intercom. Small details like these can prevent repeated calls when the person at home is preparing to say goodbye.

Eltham, Kidbrooke, Shooters Hill and New Eltham

We help families in Eltham, Kidbrooke, Shooters Hill, New Eltham and Greenwich addresses in Mottingham. If your pet is with a practice in another borough, tell us the branch address and its release requirements. Your home address remains relevant for returning the ashes, but collection should be arranged from the place where your pet is actually being cared for.

BR7 · DA15 · DA16 · SE10 · SE12 · SE13 · SE18 · SE2 · SE28 · SE3 · SE7 · SE8 · SE9

These districts contain addresses in Greenwich; they are not exclusive to the borough. A district can cross several council boundaries. The full postcode in your quote is used to check the actual collection address, rather than treating every address in a district as belonging to the same borough.

Cremation prices starting from £154

Dog cremation in Woolwich, Eltham and across Greenwich is arranged with attention to your dog's size and collection needs. About dog cremation

Cat cremation in Greenwich

Cremation prices starting from £124

For cat cremation in Greenwich, Charlton or Plumstead, you can ask about individual care and ashes return while your cat remains with the vet. If you wish to keep a collar or another personal item, make that clear before collection. The return of belongings should be agreed separately from the return of ashes.

About cat cremation

Small-pet cremation

Cremation prices starting from £94

Rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, birds and other small companions matter just as much to their families. Tell us the species and approximate size so we can explain the appropriate arrangements. Individual cremation is available for small pets too; do not assume it is only an option for dogs and cats. If your pet is in a carrier or has a favourite blanket, ask what can accompany them and which belongings you would like kept. Make those requests before handover so the team can confirm what is possible.

About rabbit cremation

Starting prices are for cremation itself. Use the form for your personalised quote, including collection and return of ashes.

From collection to bringing the ashes home

  1. Agree the arrangements

We confirm your pet's details, the collection location and your contact information. Tell us about access, your wishes for the ashes and any personal items you would like kept. Ask for clarification if something is unclear before you authorise the service.

  2. Collection and identification

Your pet's identity is recorded for the care journey. Check that the name and owner details on the booking are correct, particularly when collection is from a vet or someone else has helped organise it. The team can explain identification and tracking before handover.

  3. Individual cremation

With individual cremation, your pet is cremated separately and their ashes are prepared for return to you. If you are comparing aftercare options, ask specifically whether the service is individual and whether ashes are returned, so you are comparing the arrangements you actually want.

  4. Bringing the ashes home

Our usual ashes-return timescale is 7-9 working days. Confirm the return address and who will receive them. If your plans change, contact the team before the return is organised. A collection address is not automatically the right place to return the ashes.

I lost my cat Mannox very suddenly when…

I lost my cat Mannox very suddenly when he was hit by a car. My parents found Pet Cremation and suggested it to me and I’m very glad they did. The man who picked him up the next day was very kind to me. Everything was carried out very quickly which I’m grateful for as I wanted him back asap. The box he arrived in is lovely and big enough for me to add a few of his things. The clipping of his fur is from his tail, I didn’t ask for anything specific but it's what I was secretly hoping for. If you’re hesitating about paying a little bit more for the extras, I definitely recommend it. Thank you for helping me and treating Mannox with the respect he deserves. If you’re reading this and have lost your pet, my heart goes out to you.

Questions about pet cremation in Greenwich

Does this service include Woolwich and Eltham?

Yes. Woolwich and Eltham are covered alongside Greenwich, Charlton, Plumstead, Kidbrooke and the other neighbourhoods listed here. Use the full collection postcode so we can confirm the practical arrangements for your address.

Can you collect from a Greenwich Peninsula apartment?

Yes, subject to confirming access and availability. Provide the building and flat number, floor, lift details and any concierge instructions. If the vehicle entrance is on a different road, include that information when booking.

Can you arrange same-day collection in Greenwich?

Same-day collection may be available, subject to the address and available capacity. Contact us as early as you can; our usual same-day booking cut-off is 4pm. The team confirms availability for your booking. Our phone support is available 7am–midnight daily, and you can request an online quote at any time.

Will I receive only my own pet's ashes?

Individual cremation means your pet is cremated separately and their ashes are returned to you. We record identification details as part of the care process. If you want to understand how your pet is identified between collection and return, ask the team to explain it before booking.

What information do I need for a quote?

Start with your pet's name, species and approximate size, and tell us whether they have already passed away. The quote flow asks for the contact and postcode details needed to check your arrangements. You can ask for help if you do not know the weight or are arranging care on someone else's behalf.

Can I plan ahead without arranging collection now?

Yes. You can use the quote form to explain that your pet has not passed away yet and discuss the options. Ask about the next step rather than booking a collection you do not yet need. For advice about your pet's health, comfort or treatment, speak to your vet.

Can I choose a different address for returning the ashes?

Tell us the address and person you would like to receive the ashes when agreeing the arrangements. Our usual return timescale is 7-9 working days. If you will be away or staying with relatives, discuss this in advance and update the team if your plans change before the return is organised.
