Care throughout Lewisham

Local collection, individual care

Our Lewisham pet cremation service covers Catford, Deptford, Brockley, Forest Hill, Sydenham and the wider borough. We arrange individual cremation for dogs, cats and small pets, with collection and ashes return discussed with you. Whether you are organising care yourself or supporting a family member, you can begin with the pet's current location and ask us to guide you through the booking details.

Individual cremation gives you a clear choice when you want your pet's ashes returned. We explain the arrangements before collection, record your pet's details and help you understand what will happen next. You can ask questions at any stage; you do not need to make every decision about remembrance at the same time as organising collection.

A quote is a starting point for your own pet and address. Tell us whether your pet has already died or whether you are planning ahead, and whether they are at home or with a vet. If your pet is still alive and needs medical help, contact your veterinary practice; this page is for cremation arrangements.

Arranging collection from home or a vet

For Lewisham collections, we will need your pet's details and a clear address rather than just the location of your usual veterinary practice. If your pet is at a different branch or an emergency practice, use that address. Ask staff about release authorisation and check whether aftercare has already been arranged. At home, tell us if your pet is upstairs, if access is shared or if a gate needs to be opened. The team can discuss those requirements and collection availability before you make firm plans with other family members.

You can choose your own cremation provider. If a veterinary practice is caring for your pet, tell it your choice and confirm its release requirements before collection. Check whether another aftercare arrangement has already been authorised. Let the practice know who will collect your pet, and share its contact details with our team so the handover can be agreed.

Lewisham, Catford, Hither Green and Lee

We cover Lewisham, Catford, Hither Green, Lee, Grove Park, Downham and Bellingham. If your pet is at a vet, confirm the exact branch before giving us an address. If they are at home, tell us who will meet the collector and whether there are stairs or other access concerns. The collection address and the address for ashes return can be recorded separately.

Deptford, New Cross and Brockley

Families in Deptford, New Cross and Brockley can arrange the same individual cremation service. A neighbourhood name may be used for streets close to another borough, so give the full postcode for the collection check. If your home is a flat above another property, explain which entrance is yours. These instructions help avoid involving neighbours in a handover you may prefer to keep private.

Forest Hill, Sydenham, Honor Oak and Blackheath

Our coverage also includes Forest Hill, Sydenham, Honor Oak and Lewisham addresses in Blackheath. If a relative will receive the ashes, confirm that person's name and address when arranging the return. It may differ from both the home address and the practice where your pet is collected. Tell us about changes before the return is organised so the agreed recipient is expecting it.

Dog cremation in Lewisham

Cremation prices starting from £154

For dog cremation in Catford, Brockley and elsewhere in Lewisham, approximate weight and access details help us organise collection. If you are unsure of the weight, tell us the breed and what you know. Mention any stairs or difficulty moving your dog rather than trying to solve that yourself before the visit.

Cat cremation in Lewisham

Cremation prices starting from £124

Cat cremation in Forest Hill, Deptford or the wider borough can be arranged with the ashes returned to you. If you are caring for another person's cat or making arrangements for a relative, explain who is authorising the service. We can then keep collection instructions, updates and return details connected to the same booking.

Small-pet cremation

Cremation prices starting from £94

Rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, birds and other small companions matter just as much to their families. Tell us the species and approximate size so we can explain the appropriate arrangements. Individual cremation is available for small pets too; do not assume it is only an option for dogs and cats. If your pet is in a carrier or has a favourite blanket, ask what can accompany them and which belongings you would like kept. Make those requests before handover so the team can confirm what is possible.

About rabbit cremation

Starting prices are for cremation itself. Use the form for your personalised quote, including collection and return of ashes.

From collection to bringing the ashes home

  1. Agree the arrangements

We confirm your pet's details, the collection location and your contact information. Tell us about access, your wishes for the ashes and any personal items you would like kept. Ask for clarification if something is unclear before you authorise the service.

  2. Collection and identification

Your pet's identity is recorded for the care journey. Check that the name and owner details on the booking are correct, particularly when collection is from a vet or someone else has helped organise it. The team can explain identification and tracking before handover.

  3. Individual cremation

With individual cremation, your pet is cremated separately and their ashes are prepared for return to you. If you are comparing aftercare options, ask specifically whether the service is individual and whether ashes are returned, so you are comparing the arrangements you actually want.

  4. Bringing the ashes home

Our usual ashes-return timescale is 7-9 working days. Confirm the return address and who will receive them. If your plans change, contact the team before the return is organised. A collection address is not automatically the right place to return the ashes.

A very thoughtful and caring service

Pet Cremation UK provided a very caring and sympathetic service right from the first telephone call. Our beloved pet Annie was put to sleep at the end of the day on a Saturday and we were not keen for her to be left at the Vets over the weekend. Having spoken earlier in the day to Pet Cremation they were able to get a driver to our home within 30 minutes of our arriving back from the Vets. The pick up was very gently and politely done. We were very touched by how nicely presented her ashes were when they arrived by courier. We are pleased we chose Pet Cremation and are very happy to recommend them to others. With thanks the Sayer family

Questions about pet cremation in Lewisham

Does Lewisham coverage include Catford and Forest Hill?

Yes. Catford and Forest Hill are included, alongside Deptford, Brockley, New Cross, Sydenham and the other neighbourhoods shown here. Provide the actual collection postcode so availability can be confirmed for that address.

What if my pet has been transferred to an emergency vet?

Give us the name and address of the practice currently caring for your pet, even if it is outside Lewisham. Check the release arrangements with its staff. Your usual vet's address should not be used if your pet is no longer there.

Can you arrange same-day collection in Lewisham?

Same-day collection may be available, subject to the address and available capacity. Contact us as early as you can; our usual same-day booking cut-off is 4pm. The team confirms availability for your booking. Our phone support is available 7am–midnight daily, and you can request an online quote at any time.

Will I receive only my own pet's ashes?

Individual cremation means your pet is cremated separately and their ashes are returned to you. We record identification details as part of the care process. If you want to understand how your pet is identified between collection and return, ask the team to explain it before booking.

What information do I need for a quote?

Start with your pet's name, species and approximate size, and tell us whether they have already passed away. The quote flow asks for the contact and postcode details needed to check your arrangements. You can ask for help if you do not know the weight or are arranging care on someone else's behalf.

Can I plan ahead without arranging collection now?

Yes. You can use the quote form to explain that your pet has not passed away yet and discuss the options. Ask about the next step rather than booking a collection you do not yet need. For advice about your pet's health, comfort or treatment, speak to your vet.

Can I choose a different address for returning the ashes?

Tell us the address and person you would like to receive the ashes when agreeing the arrangements. Our usual return timescale is 7-9 working days. If you will be away or staying with relatives, discuss this in advance and update the team if your plans change before the return is organised.
